UNIPORT Students from the University of Port Harcourt are obviously borrowing a leaf from their counterparts in the University of Lagos (UNILAG). The Students of Uniport have completely blocked the major road leading to inter states popularly known as east west road over high rise in school fees.
The school management have imployed a new method which means that if students don’t pay there fees they would be forced to repeat a whole session.
Exams which is billed to start today have been put to a stand still due to the on going protest.
The aggrieved students have also resorted to burning tires, and shutting all economic activities around the east west road Port Harcourt. According to Vanguard:
STUDENTS of the University of Port Harcourt, Monday morning, staged a protest to expressed their displeasure over increase in tuition as they also accused the school management of deliberately ignoring the problems confronting them. The students said they are against the school’s new policy of ‘no fee, no examination.
The protesters have, however, stalled movement on the East-west road since 4:30a.m. when the peaceful protest commenced.
