“However, even now, many Nigerians are still so daft that they cannot read the handwriting on the wall. It is yet to register in their heads that the crash of Nigeria is now loading, and very fast too.”
Buhari, Nigeria’s travelling chief salesman is yet to indicate where he would be travelling to this time. It has been proven that each time Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is to appear in court, Buhari always sneaks out of the country.
Since assuming office in May 29, 2015, he has jetted out of the country more than 20 times, within 181 days. Each time he travelled, findings show that it has always coincided with the times Kanu appeared in court, and he would linger outside the country until the case is adjourned.
Biafra Choice Writers have chosen to look at some of the countries Buhari has visited so far.
1. Niger:
On the June 3, 2015, Buhari embarked on his first official trip to Niger Republic, which was four days after ascending the Presidency. He told Nigerians that it was to hold talks with President Mahamadou Issoufou on security and how to curb the activities of Boko Haram terrorist group.
2. Chad:
Buhari visited Chad on June 4, which he claimed was to meet with his Chadian counterpart, Idris Deby, for what he claimed was to find “lasting solution to Boko Haram insurgency”.
3. Germany:
Buhari took two days to visit Germany, said he was attending the G-7 meeting. He was accompanied by nothing less than 20 persons (Monkeys and Baboons) as delegation.
4. South Africa:
June 15, he jetted out to South Afriica to attend the African Union (AU) Summit meeting, in which he was erroneously made chairperson of the peace and Security Council meeting.
5. United States of America
Council meeting.
5. United States of America
Four days later, June 19, he left Nigeria for the United States of America (USA) with 33-man delegation. He told his gullible country men that he was invited by the Whitehouse via a statement. He also said that Barack Obama, the USA President was looking forward to discussing Boko Haram and how to tackle the insurgency.
But when he got to the USA, no government official welcomed him. In fact, he was still in the USA, abandoned, when Obama jetted out of his country for an international engagement.
6. Benin Republic:
August 1, he visited Benin Republic, claiming also that it had to do with Boko Haram insurgency.
7. Ghana:
Ghana was next, which he visited on September 7, to see its President, John Mahama.
8. France:
On September 14, Nigeria’s chief travelling salesman went to France for what he called a three-day official visit, which he said was on invitation of French leader, Francois Hollande. It was later reported that they had a closed-door meeting where they decided on military cooperation.
9. India:
On October 7, Buhari went to India to take part in the 3 rd India Africa Forum.
10. Iran:
Iran was next, which he visited November 22, 2015. He was received by the country’s Deputy President, Shariat Madri. He was also in Tehran, Iran, to participate in the Gas Exporting Countries’ Forum (GECF).
11. China:
The last country he has visited is China, and as usual he came back with nothing. Many stories have been told of what he went to do, but they are all nothing but stories.
Buhari has visited several other countries in-between such as Britain, Saudi Arabia (where he joined the Arab coalition Army) and Equatorial Guinea. He has visited USA three times since assuming office. Meanwhile the country he is said to be governing is in a mess and dying daily. Boko Haram is still ravaging the country, snuffing life out of many. In about 181 days of his assuming power, he has visited all these country while scarcity of everything is everywhere – scarcity of petrol; Scarcity of electricity; and Scarcity of water supply. Teachers are on strike for salaries not paid for close to 10 months, and graduates are without jobs.
Army and police personnel have resorted to driving taxi cabs in the evening hours, after they closed from their official work, as they have not been paid their salaries for weeks. Insecurity has increased with Fulani herdsmen are ravaging many communities.
Nnamdi Kanu told Nigerians that their country would be worse than Somalia if they refused to let Biafra go, they thought he was joking. Interestingly the daft Nigerians and their rulers expected a shooting war as they had it between 1967 and 1970. They did not know that some things worse than war would descend on their country. However, even now they are still daft they cannot read the handwriting on the wall. It is yet to register in their brains that the crash of Nigeria is now loading, and very fast too.
