Character Assassination of Her Excellency the Deputy Governor of Rivers State by Theophilus Utchaychukwu

One Theophilus Utchaychukwu posted on Facebook on the 23rd of March 2016 a post aimed at assassinating the character of Her Excellency the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, alleging that INEC Assistant EO declared Farah Dagogo (Farah) winner under duress in the presence of the Deputy Governor.

He even went further to insinuate that Her Excellency was there present when this Assistant EO was threatened with Rape. As obscene and preposterous as these allegations are, it is germane to note that none of such things took place in Degema and that in the video under review, Her Excellency was not at the INEC office when the results were announced.

She however congratulated Farah Dagogo for his victory at the election and She has every right to do that. The purported video merely joins two different scenes to deceive the public. This is absolute wickedness and is unacceptable.

The post is the handiwork of her detractors and political jobbers and desperate APC supporters who are out to tarnish the good image and integrity of the Deputy Governor and to discredit the elections they lost woefully.

APC did terrible things in the re-run elections and which has resulted in the second phase re-run elections in the State. I urge the general public to ignore the video as it is a deliberate attempt by the APC to discredit the elections. This video is a make believe to deceive the public and draw unnecessary attention to the lies and propaganda of APC.

Half Salaries: Stop misleading the Public over payment of Salaries, Group cautions Aregbesola

…….Says Osun still owes Six (6) months salaries, Pension due arrears
An Osun State based Civil Society Organization (CSO), the Civil
Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS) has
cautioned the State governor, Mr. Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola to stop
misleading the general public over the payment of half salaries and
pension due to the workers and retirees alike in the State, declaring
that the State Government were still owing the workers and retirees
for period of six(6) months now.
The group insisted that Mr. Aregbesola led-State government was
economical with the truth over its recent claimed that he has been met
with its financial obligation despite the low income earning of the
state as a result of gargantuan debt obtained by the present
administration in the State, insisting that the State Government was
unable to meet its financial obligation to workers and retires in the
State for the period of six months now, as a result of irresponsible
debt which Mr. Aregbesola plunged the State into presently.
Rising from the emergency meeting of the group in Osogbo on Sunday
(yesterday) to review the State of the affairs of Osun State in the
last one month, the CSCEOS in a statement signed by its Chairman,
Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman, which was made available to newsmen,
condemned all the anti-worker policies of the Aregbesola led present
administration in the State, regretting the emergency of Mr.
Aregbesola as the State governor in the last five and half (51/2)
years.
The Statement analyzed that since July 2015, Mr. Aregbesola has been
paying the workers and retirees alike the half salaries and pension
due with discrepancies in the payment, advising Aregbesola and his
co-travelers to imbibe the spirit of this Easter season by speaking
the truth on the governance of this State, saying that only financial
truth could save the state from brick of financial collapse.
It maintained that there was no iota of truth in the claim of the
State government that it has fulfilled its financial obligations to
workers despite the low allocations to the State from Federation
Allocation as result of irresponsive debt, adding that since 2012, the
State government were yet to pay the gratitude of retirees till date ,
insisting that Aregbesola should stop deceiving the public on the
subject matter as ongoing propaganda could not help the State
government from out of the present financial mess.
The CSCEOS therefore advised the good people, particularly, the entire
workforce and retirees in the State to stand up and fight for their
labour rights as stipulated in the labour law of the land, by sending
a signal to Mr. Aregbesola to stop half salaries and pension due
payment and balance of their six months salaries arrears should be
paid, alleging that some workers’ name have been removed from the
salaries payment voucher on the directive of Aregbesola to his
Financial Consultant firm popularly called “Charms” .
Rights activist who urged the good people of the State at home and
abroad to unite against the present administration of Aregbesola which
he described as source of sorrow, tear and hunger for the people of
the State, urging the people of the State to use the period of this
death and resurrection of the Jesus Christ to pray fervently to the
Almighty God to rescue the State from the hands of present tormentors
led by Mr. Aregbesola.
According to the group, “Osun State governor, Mr. Rauf Adesoji
Aregbesola has been economical with the truth on the payment of
salaries and pension due to workers and retirees alike in the State
and as well as state of finance of the State which result we are
experiencing today. Lets open the can of worm to the public through
this medium and put the records straight, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola are
still owing workers and retirees alike in the State for period of
six(6) months respectively with a lot of short payment in the salaries
in question. This development is contrary to Mr. Rauf Aregbesola’s
claimed before the public that the State under his watch has been meet
with its obligation to the workers and retirees despite the present
financial challenges. People should ask Aregbesola why he is nicked
name ’Baba Afusa means father of half salaries’. Mr. Aregbesola should
not hesitate to explain to the whole world why Osun State is where we
are today?. People should also ask Aregbesola why he directed his
financial consultant firm ‘Charms’ from removing some workers’ names
from the payment voucher.
”We will also like to put this before the public because this is
common sense calculation. Mr. Rauf Aregbesola has commenced the
payment of half salaries to workers and retirees in the State from
July 2015 to December 2015 and we are now in March ending of 2016
where Aregbesola just announced the payment of January half payment
salaries and retirees have not been paid half pension due of January
as being claimed by Aregbesola in the section of the media recently.
Rauf Aregbesola and his co-travelers should imbibe the spirit of the
Easter season by saying the truth as only truth can save Osun State
from the present financial mess”.

Army Colonel kidnapped in Kaduna

A senior officer with the Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Jaji, Kaduna, has been kidnapped.
Samaila Inusa, a colonel, was abducted on Saturday in the city by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
His abduction came one week after three clergy men suffered the same fate in Kaduna.
Inusa and his wife were reportedly driving along Kamazo road, near NNPC junction, Kaduna, around 7.30pm when the abductors on their trail overtook them.
They blocked his car, pulled the officer’s wife out of the car and drove off with him in his car, according to the army.
Usman Abdul, a colonel and deputy director, public relations, 1 Division, Kaduna, said the abductors then headed towards Abuja.
“They were in a Mercedes Benz GLK Black colour with registration number Abuja, KUJ 154 TZ. This happened at about 7:30pm on Saturday 26 March 2016,” he said.

Bishop Onaiyekan blasts Buhari over Islamic Coalition alliance

– Catholic Bishop says President Buhari’s recent action on Islamic Coalition alliance is dangerous for the country
– Lashes put at minister who said it is not religious
Cardinal Archbishop John Onaiyekan is unhappy with President Buhari’s recent moves.
The decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to drag Nigeria into the Saudi-led Islamic coalition has been lebeled dangerous and unwise.
This much was disclosed by the Catholic Bishop of Abuja Diocese, John Onaiyekan during an exclusive interview with Premium Times, where he added also that Buhari’s decision poses great danger for Nigeria as a nation.
He said: “I am not sure it is a wise thing.
“Once you talk of an Islamic coalition and you are bringing Nigerian armed forces into it, my fear is that this is a dangerous step.
“We have been trying, and I think successfully, to keep religion out of our armed forces. Can you imagine what will happen if Nigerian armed forces were fighting in the North-West on the basis of religion?

Speaking further, the respected cleric said that countries that joined the alliance before Nigeria were not faring well, arguing that President Buhari joined based on the advice that he got.
According to him: “Those who put the alliance together have not succeeded in putting their own houses in order.
“It’s not as if they have succeeded well in Iraq, Syria and other places.
“So whoever advised him (President Mohammadu Buhari) did not advice him well.”
While slamming Nigeria’s foreign affairs minister, Geoffrey Onyeama over his comment that the alliance was not religious, the bishop said:
“When I heard the minister of foreign affairs saying that there is nothing religious about the coalition; I’m sorry that the Minister of Foreign Affairs does not know how Nigerians behave and think,” Mr. Onaiyekan said.
“You cannot tell us that something is Islamic and at the same time say it is not religious. That is a contradiction. It’s like saying Islam is not a religion.”
About one month ago, reports had emerged that President Buhari rejected moves to join the Islamic states coalition to fight terrorism, and was hailed by Nigerians for the move.
It was therefore surprising just weeks after when the president reportedly announced Nigeria’s inclusion in the coalition.

What do have to say about this guy?

Police begin recruitment of 10,000 officers April 1

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has unveiled a portal for the recruitment of 10,000 officers as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
At the National Security Summit last year, Buhari ordered the Police to recruit more men to boost security.
The Commission Chairman, Mike Okiro, who unveiled the portal, said the portal would be opened to the public on April 1.
In a statement, yesterday, PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations Ikechukwu Ani said the recruitment process online is free for intending officers.
Okiro said there had been no recruitment into the Police for over five years due to financial constraint.
He said thousands of policemen, who died in service, dismissed or retired, had not been replaced since the last five years, leaving the Force under-manned and overstretched.
Interested Nigerians have been asked to access the portal through the commission’s website www.psc.gov.ng or that of the Nigeria Police Force, www.npf.gov.ng.
On whether a fee would be paid for the forms, Okiro said: “We are not charging money; it is free, absolutely free and the portal has been structured in a way that there will be no short cut. So, everybody must go through due process”.
The statement added: “The commission will be recruiting

Foreign Observers Confirm Dakuku’s Security Shot Wike’s Chief Of Staff, Killed Aide

Rivers State All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate, Dakuku Peterside and APC South East Senatorial candidate, Sen. Magnus Abe, gasping for breath after they and other Rivers State APC candidates were tear gassed at the gate of INEC head office, during a protest to the INEC National Chairman in Abuja,on Wednesday, August 12, 2015.
Foreign election observers who came to Nigeria to monitor the March 19, 2016 legislative rerun elections in Rivers State have indicted an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Dakuku Peterside in the murder of the orderly of the chief of staff to the Rivers State Governor, Chief Emeka Wogu.
The Trent first broke the news that Dakuku’s security detail had opened fire on Wogu’s SUV on Sunday. Our reporter who was monitoring the elections from a location in Old GRA, Port Harcourt heard the gunshots in the estate and launched an investigation.
Our findings revealed that Dakuku, who is also the director general of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) had, in the company of about 50 soldiers, invaded an election collation centre and snatched original result sheets from election officials. Wogu, who was the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) agent at the centre, chased him to the Old GRA where Dakuku’s security opened fire on Wogu’s SUV killing one his aides.
Foreign observers, domestic and civil society organisation who covered the March 19 legislative elections in Rivers State held a press conference on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Juanita Hotel in Port Harcourt. At the briefing, attended by The Trent, a damning report was presented which outlined the key issues surrounding the preparations, conduct, and the outbreak of violence and irregularities during the tension-soaked polls.
The report indicted Dakuku Peterside for hijacking election materials at Ikwerre Ward 7 in the company of 50 soldiers. It also confirmed that an orderly of the chief of staff to Governor Wike was shot dead by security men attached to the NIMASA DG. The observers also condemned Sahara Reporters , which first reported the APC propaganda twisting the facts, for biased and sensational reporting of the incident, saying that “media houses owned by politicians” slanted their “reporting in favour of their directors”.
“It was observed that some media exaggerated matters and infact distorted the facts. This was initially noticed amongst media houses owned by politicians. Their reportage was mainly tilted in favour of the political party of their directors.
“A case in point is the report on the killings of the orderly of the chief of staff to the Governor [Wike]. The report in most newspapers was that the chief of staff attempted to assassinate a governorship candidate [Dakuku], whist in reality it was the orderly of the chief of staff that was killed by security men attached to the governorship candidate,” the report, obtained by The Trent, says.
The communique was issued by the group of election observers made up of the West African Network of Election Observers, Justice and Equity Organisation, Civil Society Network, National Association of State Legislators, African Initiative For Sustainable And Positive Development, and Restoration for Truth and Rights Initiative.
Some of the leaders of the organisations who spoke at the press briefing were Herbert General Lordmator, Mr B. Bafunsho, Emma Nweke, Chief Adolphus and WANEO co-ordinator for Rivers, Ambassador C. Onutemeka.

Presidency: No VACANCY IN 2019 -APC

ABUJA — There will be no vacancy in the Presidency in 2019, members of the National Caucus of the All Progressives Congress, APC, declared on Tuesday night in a seeming lure to President Muhammadu Buhari to seek a second term.

Oyegun and Buhari The national caucus, comprising serving and former governors, the National Assembly leadership, and selected members of the national executive of the party, at the meeting said the endorsement of President Buhari for a second term would help to stabilise the polity in the face of what members described as the 16-year rot inherited from Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Meanwhile, the national chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has dismissed insinuations of a threat against his position, just as the caucus, Tuesday night, constituted a committee to resolve all pending issues in the party.

One of the issues agreed on at the meeting, Vanguard learned yesterday, was that President Buhari should be given opportunity to seek a second term. Though the issue of a second term for the President was generally agreed, caucus members, however, also agreed that it would be too early in the day to kick start a second term campaign for the President.

Vanguard learned that the issue was brought up as a way of resting restiveness among some party leaders, who have been divided over their various aspirations for 2019. The positioning by different party leaders on 2019 has been blamed for the problems that led to the crisis in the National Assembly and also the inability of the party to inaugurate its Board of Trustees, BoT, till date.

“With Buhari contesting in 2019, those who have been squabbling will now have to queue up behind him and put the interest of the party ahead,” a source privy to the development revealed yesterday. Remarkably, leading senators in the party on Tuesday night met in Abuja where they also pledged to unify themselves in the face of the prospect of losing their influence to the more united PDP caucus.

Odigie-Oyegun dismisses threat to his office Meanwhile, Odigie-Oyegun speaking to reporters at the end of the caucus meeting on Tuesday night dismissed reports of pressures on him to resign his office.

He said: “I am not aware that my office is under threat. I led the party to the State House. It amazes me, occasionally it annoys me. That is one of the things you have to endure when you are in a position like mine.” Noting the trend of the meeting, Odigie-Oyegun said that a committee had been constituted to resolve all the crises in the party.

Speaking on the performance of his party’s government almost one year after taking over power, the national chairman pleaded for time on the part of Nigerians. He said the government would come on full stream when the 2016 budget is passed.

ISLAMIZATION OF NIGERIA-A POSSIBLE REALITY.

One of the greatest irony, which I see as a practical delusion is the mentality by southern Nigerians that no President can Islamize Nigeria. Muslims are people over the years that strategically occupy cities and nations and over rum them suddenly. They come as slaves with the intention to rule; they come appearing vulnerable but show their strengths afterwards.
In terms of temperament,, they are proud, patient, calculating, subtle, courageous and they have very long memories. They are capable of masking their thoughts and emotions very well but they will never forget a sleight. Most importantly, unlike most, they are capable of recognizing a common group cause and consequently they are in a better position to further the political and economic interests of their people more than any others. To a Fulani, interest of his people and their collective cause is more important than anything else.

On October 2nd, 2014 edition of Pointblanknews Magazine, Alhaji Aliyu Gwarzo, a prominent Fulani leader from Kano, said the following words
“when I say that the presidency must come to the North next year, I am referring to the Hausa-Fulani core North and not any Northern Christian or Muslim minority tribe.  The Christians in the North, such as the Berom, the Tiv, the Kataf, the Jaba, the Zuru, the Sayyawa, the Bachama, the Jukun, the Idoma and all the others are nothing and the muslim minorities in the North, including the Kanuri, the Nupe, the Igbira, the Babur, the Shuwa Arabs, the Marghur and all the others know that when we are talking about leadership in the North and in Nigeria, Allah has given it to us, the Hausa-Fulani.  They can grumble, moan and groan as much as they want but each time they go into their bedrooms to meet their wives and each time they get on their prayer mats to begin their prayers, it is we the Fulani that they think of, that they fear, that they bow to and that they pray for.
Some of them are even ready to give us their wives and daughters for one night’s sport and pleasure. They owe us everything. This is because we gave them Islam through the great Jihad waged by our father, the great Usuman Dan Fodio.
We also captured Ilorin, killed their local King and installed our Fulani Emir. We took that ancient town away from the barbarian Yoruba and their filthy pagan gods. We liberated all these places and all these people by imposing Islam on them by force. It was either the Koran or the sword, and most of them chose the Koran. In return for the good works of our forefathers, Allah, through the British, gave us Nigeria to rule and to do with as we please. Since 1960 we have been doing that and we intend to continue.
No Goodluck or anyone else will stop us from taking back our power next year. We will kill, maim, destroy and turn this country into Africa’s biggest war zone and refugee camp if they try it.
Many say we are behind Boko Haram. My answer is what do you expect? We do not have economic power or intellectual power. All we have is political power and they want to take even that from us.
We must fight and we will fight back in order to keep it. They have brought in the infidels from America and the pigs from Israel to help them but they will fail. The war has just begun, the Mujahedeen are more than ready and by Allah we shall win.
If they don’t want an ISIS in Nigeria then they must give us back the presidency and our political power. Their soldiers are killing our warriors and our people every day but mark this: even if it takes one hundred years, we will have our revenge.
Every Fulani man that they kill is a debt that will be repaid, even if it takes 100 years. The Fulani have very long memories”.
President Muhammadu Buhari himself in 2013 when he said that if what happened in 2011 during the presidential elections happens again in 2015 and he ends up losing to President Goodluck Jonathan, who happens to be a southern christian, “the dog and the baboon will both be soaked in blood”.
Another Elder statesman of the North, Alhaji Lawal Kaita, said, before the presidential election in 2011, that “power must return to the North otherwise we (meaning northerners) would make the country ungovernable”. Jonathan went ahead to win the election and Lawal Kaita and co. went ahead to honour their word: from 2011 till 2015, making the country ungovernable they certainly did.
These are shocking and deeply troubling utterances from these Fulani leaders and the implications of their threat-filled words are self-evident. They need no further analysis or explanation here.
They are using the Fulani herdsmen are a standing army. They are highly protected by the government in power.
The truth remains that Nigerians especially the Christians in the North and the rest of Southern Nigeria are under occupation. If it is not the Fulani herdsmen that are tormenting them, then it is Boko Haram. If it is not Boko Haram, then it is Armed Forces who are under orders from our oppressors.
Most Nigerians are in denial of what is going on and some are just too intimidated and cowardly to acknowledge the problem, let alone to speak out against or attempt to resist it.
When Al Jazeera questioned President Buhari on the implication of his action as regards the Saudi Coalition, about the fact that this move could cause immense anxiety and apprehension to the Christian Association of Nigeria and to the massive Christian population in the country, He responded by asking why he should be concerned about the views of those “religious bigots” and that instead of complaining “the Christians should organize themselves and go and fight against terrorism and the militants in the south”.
Such an insulting, and aggressive response confirms the fears that Nigerian government is not only interested in establishing an ethnic Fulani hegemony but that they also wish to Islamize the nation and put into effect the stated intention, dream and objective of the late Saurdana of Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello, of “dipping the Koran in the Atlantic ocean”.
One of the strong strategies of President Buhari is to make Nigeria a failed state whereby anarchy and survival of the fittest will seem to prevail and under such an atmosphere, he will mobilize their forces under the pretense to stop the situation; which will give way to a grand Islamization of the nation. Already, Boko Haram has been positioned in the North, and the Herdsmen Militia in the South, the Government already is in a coalition that can provide them all forms of assistance in the event of an outbreak of war against the infidels ( as they call the Christians); the Armed Forces are in their commands. Leaving the Christians and other Southners very vulnerable. UNLESS GOD INTERVENES THROUGH YOUR PRAYERS

APC'S FEDERAL GOVERNMENT: IMPLEMENTING THE WORLD'S FIRST COUP IN A DEMOCRACY?

For the first time since 1999, since the re-enactment of civilian rule and democracy in Nigeria and after protracted and successive military dictatorships, Nigeria is witnessing, what from all indications appears to be the world's first coup in a democracy.

No one would have conceived the notion that in this era and time, when more and more nations are embracing democracy and upholding the rule of law, Nigeria would be championing the reversal of democratic gains, which were the legacy achievements of the Jonathan government that bowed out gracefully only a fortnight ago.

Who would have thought that a Federal Government would endorse the misuse of Federal forces to undermine democracy and the sanctity of the ballot? Who would have thought that citizens would be felled by the bullets of soldiers while exercising their franchise within a democracy? Who would have thought that Soldiers would stand against the rights of citizens to freely choose their leaders? Who would have thought that at the end of an election in which the Federal Government itself played roles to undermine and doctor the results, and lost out due to the courageous  insistence of Rivers people in upholding the sanctity of the ballot, the results won't be respected and declared? Who would have thought that these would be happening in 2016? Who would have thought so?

The blunt refusal by INEC to release collated results of already conducted and concluded elections amounts to a coup d'etat against the people of Rivers State who have freely expressed their wishes and entrusted their mandates to eminently qualified representatives. Rivers people have freely expressed their choices. It is not the duty of INEC or whoever somewhere in Abuja to evaluate the propriety or otherwise of those choices. The results must be respected and declared.

The delay in the declaration of all results of elections conducted in the Rivers Rerun doesn't only portray the Federal Government of APC, from whom both INEC and the Military are commandeered, as unduly interfering with the electoral process but most importantly, reasonably pitches it as instigating strife and break down of law and order in the country, not just in Rivers State. While this may not be the case, they are logical inferences that any reasonable mind can deduce. It is for this cause, that it would serve Nigeria well, especially the Federal Government, to douse the escalating tensions and #ReleaseRiversResults without further unwarranted delays.
Nothing else will suffice.

Saraki Loses Bid To Stop Trials In CCT.

Senate President Bukola Saraki has lost his bid to stop his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
Mr Danladi Umar, chairman of the tribunal ruling on the jurisdiction challenge by Saraki’s counsel, Chief Kanu Agabi, said the tribunal has the power to hear the case of false asset declaration against the Senate President and will thus proceed to hear the case.
Umar agreed with the defence counsel that the issue of juridisction must first be tackled before the commencement of hearing but affirmed that the constitution empowered the attorney-general and Justivce minister to file the charges.
Following the dismissal of Saraki’s motion, the prosecution counsel, Rotimi Jacobs said proceedings of the trial should continue since the Tribunal has said last week that it will continue the hearing of the case today if the decision go against the Senate President.
But Agabi opposed him, saying continuing with the case will indicate that the Tribunal knows the ruling before then.
But the Tribunal Chairman said the trial should not be rushed inspite of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act. Justice Umar has adjourned trial to 5 April for continuation of trial
He said the defendant should be given time to prepare for his defence to ensure that justice is done.
Today’s proceedings began at 10.20 am, when Umar, donning a blue suit arrived the courtroom together with other member of the Tribunal Saraki entered the dock around 10.24 am.

NUPENG, PENGASSAN Worried Over Job Loss,Warn Buhari.

Nigeria’s oil industry unions, which staged a strike this month, are pressing the government to prevent oil majors hit by a slump in crude prices from laying off staff, the oil minister said on Wednesday.
The unions held a brief strike two weeks ago after the government unveiled plans to split state oil firm NNPC into different units, part of reforms by President Muhammadu Buhari to end graft in the vital energy industry.
They suspended the action after the government said it would listen to their demands, which they laid out at a meeting with Buhari, their first since the former general was elected a year ago.
“They (unions) are worried about job loss in the sector arising from the position of majors who feel that the economy is giving the rough end of the stick,” said Oil Minister Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, who attended Wednesday’s meeting.
“And so we are going to be working with the oil majors to ensure that we do not experience the kind of job loss that we are hearing has the potential to occur in the sector,” he told reporters.
Oil majors such as Shell and ENI work with NNPC in joint ventures.
The unions, which were not immediately available for comment, also opposed any job cuts at refineries, which the government is considering selling, Kachikwu said
The unions were also demanding a swift passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill, a project in the works for a decade to overhaul the industry, he added. It will call for environmental, tax and revenues sharing rules.
Kachikwu added the government hoped to end fuel shortages hitting much of the West African nation within two months as the state oil firm tries to restart Nigeria’s outdated refineries.
“Our strategy is that whatever is produced in the refineries will not go for sale, we are going to keep them in the strategic reserve,” he said. “The key problem here is that there is no reserve.”

PDP Senators call for release of Rivers re-run polls result.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus of the Senate has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately release the outstanding results in the Rivers State re-run elections particularly results that were collated from polling units, wards, Local Government Areas in their possession.
This was part of the resolutions reached at the PDP Senate Caucus meeting held on Thursday with the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff in attendance.
In a communiqué signed by the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the caucus agreed to send a delegation to visit Rivers State and congratulate the Governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike on the electoral victories and commiserate with the families of people who had lost their loved ones in the re-run elections in Rivers State, particularly the youth corps member who was slain in the imbroglio.
The PDP Senators condemned in totality the acts of violence perpetrated during the re-run elections in Rivers State and called on President Muhammadu Buhari to support the commission of enquiry investigating the killings in the Rivers re-run elections with a view to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
According to the communiqué, “the Caucus calls on INEC to as a matter of urgency re-schedule the imo North re-run Senatorial election without further delay as since the 90 days ordered by the court had since lapsed.
“The Caucus also calls on INEC to re-schedule similar re-run elections in Anambra Central and Kogi East Senatorial Districts,” the communiqué said.
The PDP Senators said they had reviewed the decision of the National Executive Council of the party and agreed that the timetable of the Party Congresses and National Convention remained sacrosanct.
They called on the political class to exhibit tolerance for multi-party democracy in the nation to discourage political impunity in all ramifications.

Buhari Apologizes Over Sack of Universities Board, Says “We Lick Our Vomit”

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, apologised over last month’s sack of the Boards of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and the 12 Federal universities that were established by the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.
President Buhari, who spoke at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, said he had to rescind the blanket order for the suspension or dissolving of the Universities Boards, after discovering that according to extant laws of the universities, Vice Chancellors can’t be chosen unless the Boards sit down, interview prospective candidates who want to be VCs.
Buhari said: “When we came in after 16 years of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, each government had 42 ministries. We reduced them to 24, removed 21 Permanent Secretaries.
We sat down and reflected seriously. We were all in the process of taking over at a time of national budget. So, imagine the volume of work and with what happened in the National Assembly, the padding, it would appear that below the Permanent Secretaries, there are still a lot of bureaucracies that are still with them. So, you have to appreciate the position we are in. Having cut 42 to 24, correspondingly, the parastatals will be cut down to some size and realigned and the boards reconstituted.
“We gave a blanket order which we had to rescind when we said all boards are suspended or dissolved.
We had to go back and lick our vomit in terms of university boards because we found out that according to their laws, they cannot choose Vice Chancellors unless the Boards sit down, interview prospective candidates who wants to be VCs.
So, there is nothing wrong in saying sorry and going back on your decision. So, we said sorry and allow all the universities to continue with their boards. But for the rest, eventually, we will make it. So, please, try to bear with us as we reflect on where we found ourselves.”
Recall that on February 13, 2016, the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu had in a terse statement declared that the President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and Visitor to all federal universities, President Muhammadu Buhari, approved the appointment of new vice chancellors for the 12 under-listed Federal Universities and the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) with effect from Friday, February 12, 2016.
The Education Ministry in a separate notice had said that the President also approved the reconstitution of the governing councils of the new 12 Federal Universities with immediate effect.

Buhari says No Need Complaining Again About PDP 16yrs Failures.

President Mohammadu Buhari has said it makes no sense any more complaining
about the 16yr failures of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, promising to
utilize available resources to tackle challenges facing the country.
Buhari who spoke Thursday during the National Executive Committee, NEC,
meeting of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, said his Government
will dwell on the Agriculture and Solid Minerals sectors to boost the
economic base of Nigeria.
Below is the transcript of his remark during the meeting:
PROTOCOLS
We are members of the legacy party, plus APGA and DPP. We realized since
2005 that to remove the PDP from power, we must sink our differences, come
together and form a party. God willing, that eventually happened and that
is why we are where we are today, coming together inspite of our
differences, both personal and ideological. We must not forget that.
Having identified that as members of the legacy party, we again identified
three fundamental things facing us. First, security, second, economy and
unemployment and thirdly, corruption. We campaigned throughout the country
on these three fundamental issues and nobody successfully challenged us
and these issues remained relevant.
On security, we have made progress. It was a very courageous decision that
the party took and executed by the Executive by removing most of the
military hierarchy and appointing those to take over from them, acquiring
some new hard and soft ware and raising the morale of the military to go
secure the rest of the country which was then 14 out of 774 local
government. I have said it often that as far as I know and the service
Chiefs who are on ground, they are not holding any local government. But
they still have some capability especially on soft targets by using
technology.
For Niger Delta, the militants are sending some conflicting messages. Some
have said they are ready to drop their arms and join the rest of the
nation to build it. But part of them are still sabotaging installations
which is making investments in that lucrative area of Nigeria difficult
because nobody will submit his riches to financial institutions, get money
only to suffer huge loss. So, the environment for investment is being
sabotaged by our own selves, Nigerians. We are doing our best with the
military by trying to persuade them to join the rest of the country
because in unity lies our strength.
Of course the leadership of INEC has been changed, but I appeal to the
leadership of the military, security agents and INEC that what I want
Nigerians to remember me for, even if I have to leave the Presidency
tomorrow is that I respect them. I want all Nigerians to believe and hold
their PVC as personal entitlement as Nigerians and use it the way the
like, and vote for whoever they like at which ever election. If they
voluntarily sold it, it is part of their right and so, let them sell it
and remain at home and not participate in any election. But let the law
enforcement agencies give them the confidence that nobody will come out
who has money to hire thugs, give them drugs and stop them from exercising
their fundamental right.
I am afraid I did not succeed in the election in Kogi, Bayelsa, Rivers. I
think that more Nigerians are killed or killed themselves in Rivers than
in any particular state. At this stage of our political development, to
remain brutal is shameful and as a government, I promise we will do
something by the next general election.
On the economy, the fall of oil prices after Nigeria has made itself a
mono economy is a disaster. I wonder why people could not believe that in
Nigeria, about 27 out of 36 states have difficulty in paying basic
salaries of their workers. If from 1999 to at least 2003, oil is above 100
dollars per barrel and an export of about 2 million barrel per day, how
come Nigeria failed to make some arrangement to cushion the effect of a
probably volatile oil market? Again, it show failure of the last
administration. But we are now to pick the pieces as an APC government and
so, there is no need complaining, but let us concentrate and see how much
we can do with whatever remains of the economy. We realized that
agriculture and solid minerals are two areas that can quickly come to help
us to recover economically, at least in terms of employment and feeding
ourselves and more importantly, saving the hard currency to make sure that
what is left our industries remain open, employing Nigerians and producing
goods and services which is very important.
The policy we are trying to implement is TSA. When we insist that we have
to know what comes in and what goes out for us to make a comprehensive
amendment to the economy. If you go and see the Central Bank Governor, he
will tell you that in the TSA, we have more than N3 trillion. Where would
this money have been if TSA was not in vogue? I was made to understand
that vouchers would have quickly been raised towards the end of the
financial year and checks made. Whether they are going into projects or
private pockets, nobody can prove it to you. But that money is there, it
is identified, if is quantified and when the budget comes back eventually,
the Ministry of finance will see how to allocate it to the rest of the
country.
We have tried to make sure that NNPC is reorganized, so that we know how
much of our crude is taken, how much it is sold and to which account the
money is going. But I tell you that up to the time we came, if anybody
told you that he knows how much of crude exchanges hands either on the
high sea or reaching their destination and the accounts the money goes
into, that person is not telling you the truth. We are getting the
cooperation of countries that has received this crude. But we have to be
sure of the facts in our hands before we start prosecution so that
Nigerians will believe what we have been telling them.
Again, I have to repeat myself here for you to appreciate what I am going
through because you are closer to the people than myself. I was telling a
British team that came to supervise the training team they sent, that when
I was in uniform, you took the perceived corrupt ones and put them in safe
custody and quietly told them they were guilty until they can prove
themselves innocent. But now under multi-party democratic system, I see
some of them ride Rolls Royce, some of them have built estates here, but
they are innocent until we can prove them guilty. This situation is true
and you don’t need to stress your imagination to find out. If you can find out, you discover that a level eight officer has five houses, while you, as a Permanent Secretary or Commissioner is still living in a rented house. We have to get credible evidence to carry out successful prosecution and get judgement from the Judiciary. But effort is being made to give a list of recoveries in whatever currencies so far so that
Nigerians will know that it is not all about long stories.
For the party, I will like you to continue to make sacrifice. I know you
are being harassed since the election that they haven’t seen anything on the ground. Well, if you have any explanation that could be accepted, is that you have three more years to go. When we came in after 16 years of PDP, each government had 42 ministries. So, you have to
appreciate the position we are in.
Having cut 42 to 24,correspondingly, the parastatals will be cut down to some size and realigned and the boards reconstituted. We gave a blanket order which we had to rescind when we said all boards are suspended or dissolved. We had to go back and lick our vomit in terms of university boards because we found out that according to their laws, they cannot choose Vice Chancellors unless the Boards seat down, interview prospective candidates who wants to be VCs. So, there is nothing wrong in saying sorry and going back on your decision. So, we said sorry and allow all the universities to continue with their boards. But for the rest, eventually, we will make it. So, please, try to bear with us as we reflect on where we found ourselves.

For globetrotting, sometimes, you need to present your case on personal basis to your economic colleagues and neighbors. Nothing is better than personal touch and I believe that we are learning a lot and eventually, the nation will realize so, I don’t envy you on the harassment you are going through from your constituencies. Take it with a lot of determination and we will be all right, God willing.

Stop blaming Jonathan, fulfill your promises Bishop Oyedepo tells Buhari.

Founder
of Living Faith Church worldwide,a.k.a Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo has described the socio-economic challenges in the nation as those borne out of systemic failure.
According to him, the Muhammadu Buhari’s administratiin had no point blaming any political party or individual for the current travails Nigeria is facing .
He said “The present administration should be more sensitive to issues that affect ordinary people, because things had not been working well.”
Oyedepo who is also Chancellor of Landmark University, Omu Aran, Kwara state, urged the Buhari administration to be more sensitive to issues that affect ordinary nigerians saying that things have not been working well.
The clergyman cum academician spoke with journalists in Omu Aran at the fifth founder’s day celebration of the private university he estaablished in Omu Aran, his country home.
According to him,”Our problem is a systemic problem not political or leadership problem and we must find solution to it. Nigeria will not go down the drain, we will proffer solution to it.”
He noted that,”Where we are today is not where we should be. The effect of the forex has a lot to do with small scale industries and that is where the bulk of Nigeria employment is.”
“Anybody can make mistakes but if people in the authority are not sensitive to the cry of the people, we would keep making more mistakes. My understanding is that it is never late to be right. If a decision is made and we discovered it is not right we should do an informed review.” he added.
Oyedepo also said, “What am saying is that things have not been working and we are all aware of it. There is no point pointing accusing finger. Each individuals in the country also have a lot to play to recover the dignity of our nation”.
He however stressed that, “The challenges have been with us for many years, it didn’t just happen now. Government should be sensitive on issue that affect everybody.”
“We have been fighting over the issue of power for many decades now. Government should have its priority. They should itemise the fundamentals that can move Nigeria forward and commit to it. “He added.
He noted that,”We don’t have to have the resources, if we have the platform for investors to come in because they are more in touch with the issues.”
“Look at the present fuel problem. It used to be black market but now we have black stations and they have the right to sell at any price because they are private marketers but the government still need to come out and take a decision on it”.
Oyedepo also said, “Solution should not be only thinking, we should go beyond thinking to reasoning, logical, rational and analytical reasoning by identifying the issues and proffer possible way out of the problem.
“Nigeria problems is all about cost effective solution that will come out of sound reasoning. Remember the people in government are from us. So, we are all in government since they are not foreigners. So each one of us has a role to play. Private bodies should be allowed in all other areas of the country just like we have in the education sector. “He stressed.
He further said that,”Nigerians need to take responsibility of our challenges and find solutions to them because we have nowhere else to go. We should not sit down and cast blames.”
“We have to be committed in finding the solution and stop the blame game even though government has a major role to play, each one of us also has roles to play. People will not listen to a critique but a consult who are thinking value addition taught. We learn from other nations efforts in solving problems.”he added.

“We Lost Because Amaechi Talks too Much” – APC; “Hunger ‘ll Kill You”, Amaechi Fires Back at Okocha (2)

He continued “Even the money we asked them to give us for the election, he said the money would be given to us after the election because, we used the money he gave us for 2015 election to buy cars. What nonsense!
He should have just released the money then remain in Abuja, instead of coming here to cause more problems for us.”
It would be recalled that the APC candidate at the Rivers state legislative rerun election for Obio Apkor Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Mr. Tony Okocha reportedly blamed former governor and Minister of transportation Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi for the parties loss in the rerun elections. Mr. Okocha who was Chief of staff of government house while Amaechi was governor said this while speaking with friends and associates shortly after the results of the polls started coming in. .
He reportedly blamed Amaechi for ‘talking too much’ and ‘exposing their plans’.
In his words; “We lost this election because Amaechi talks too much, Amaechi talks too much, l never liked his radio and TV ranting because he was just talking before thinking. He exposed our plans and brought the eyes of the whole world on Rivers State through his needless media noise. Even the money we asked them to give us for the election, he said the money would be given to us after the election because, we used the money he gave us for 2015 election to buy cars. What nonsense! He should have just released the money then remain in Abuja, instead of coming here to cause more problems for us.”
Those were the leaked words of Tony Okocha of the APC while having a secret meeting with his political associates in Obio Akpor LGA.

“We Lost Because Amaechi Talks too Much” – APC; “Hunger ‘ll Kill You”, Amaechi Fires Back at Okocha

Minister of Transportation and Rivers APC leader, Rotimi Amaechi has blasted APC candidates who lost the re-run elections yesterday saying “hunger will kill you (people)”. This was in reply to the stinker given to him and credited to his former Chief of Staff and aspirant to the Obio/Akpor Constitency seat for the Federal House of Reps, Tony Okocha.
Speaking at the Port Harcourt International Airport on his way back to Abuja, Amaechi said “its unfortunate that people who are contesting election are waiting for me to give them money before they can campaign. How can people be so wicked to themselves” he asked.
When a reporter read to him what Mr Tony Okocha said, including saying that he Amaechi talks too much and was responsible for their collective loss during yesterday’s polls, Amaechi replied “I doubt Tony said that, but if he did,, tell him that for waiting on my money, hunger will kill him too; You know I dont hide my feelings, thats why Rivers people love me”.
Also when queried for his response to the anger of APC members in the state who said “AmaechI’s Federal might is useless. We could have done better without the army that Amaechi brought” he laughed and replied “if you dont have something else to ask me, then you all should step back and stop following me”
At that point, his stern looking security details barred the press men and Amaechi walked to his waiting private jet marked JT56FTF .
It would be recalled that Mr Tony Okocha yesterday blasted Rotimi Amaechi accusing him of being responsible for their loss. He said: “We lost this election because Amaechi talks too much, Amaechi talks too much. l never liked his radio and TV ranting because he was just talking before thinking. He exposed our plans and brought the eyes of the whole world on Rivers State through his needless media noise.”

BREAKING! Ongoing Persecution of Christians in Kaduna (See Heartrending Photos) (2)

Shelter in Christ Orphanage Home children also stormed the street crying “El-Rufai, what did we do? Why do you want to demolish our only building?
Christians all over talk to El-Rufai.
El-Rufai want to kill us”
Before the protest march could advance to the centre of Kaduna El-Rufai sent Kaduna State security outfit, “Operation Yaki” out to disperse the protesting Christians and stop the protest.
The device used to take the picture of Operation Yaki was destroyed.
It is of a note that El-Rufai is the litmus paper to test the cooperate wills of the Christians as APC is bent on their Islamic Agenda.
Since returning from Mecca, where El-Rufai accompanied Buhari, Rauf Aregbesola, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi in an Islamic Prayer even inside the Kaaba; El-Rufai has intensified his Islamic Agenda, aggravating his persecution of Christians.

Just to mention a few how he is terrorising Christians:
1. He has ordered that apart from Good Friday and Easter Monday breaks all schools both private and public MUST NOT go on Easter break. Failure to comply shall attract severe sanction. See the link to the news: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1781705688728619&id=1778935029005685

2. He has sent an anti preaching bill to the Kaduna State House of Assembly, which is on 2nd reading already: See the link here: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1780729558826232&id=1778935029005685

3. He is terrorising Christian communities with complete demolition of their houses. See the link to the news here: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1781033495462505&id=1778935029005685
4. He has marked out all churches in Gbagyi Villa including an orphanage home for demolition.

El-Rufai is just a litmus paper if Christians all over don’t rise up against this terrible persecution no matter the lies and hypocrisy that El-Rufai is using to garnish his evil agenda, then other APC governors are waiting to follow suit.
Help share this with as many Christians and Christian bodies you know. We must employ all spiritual and legal means at our disposal to stop this evil; no matter the lies that El-Rufai will hide under.

BREAKING! Ongoing Persecution of Christians in Kaduna (See Heartrending)(1)

Christians in Gbagyi Villa, a 100% Christian community in Kaduna State came out on Thursday, 17th March, 2016 to stage a protest against the ongoing tyranny and the persecution of the Kaduna State APC governor, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai; who has marked all their buildings including all the churches in their community for demolition. After the marking El-Rufai gave the Christian community 21 days ultimatum to remove their buildings or he will demolish those buildings and the owner of the buildings will pay the state government for the demolition exercise. He hinged his order on a false allegation that the people don’t have planning permit. Whereas, most of them came out with their planning permit as well as their receipts of payments. The Persecution is still ongoing as at the time of this report.
Arise News Reporter that covered the protest reported as follows:
Arise News reporter that was at the scene of the protest could not control his tears as some women were seen rolling on the ground screaming “Is it a crime to be a Christian in Kaduna under APC now? El-Rufai leave us alone.”
Uncontrollable tears was streaming down my eyes as I heard the agony of some Christian widows.
Another group of Christian women were also chanting, “El-Rufai, leave us alone, El-Rufai, leave us alone.”
Old women were not left out. They also stormed the protest venue to join the protest.
A very old woman who spoke in Hausa language screamed in Hausa. This is the interpretation of her agony: “If El-Rufai is ready to crush our only hope, which is the buildings that our husbands have left for us, then it is better we die on the road protesting than wait for El-Rufai to come and pull down our buildings just because we are Christians. What are other Christian bodies doing to rescue us?” She asked in tears.

Rivers rerun : We have videos of atrocities committed by the military –Governor Wike

*Says No INEC official is empowered to cancel already declared results
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the state government has compiled videos of the atrocities committed by the military across the state during the rerun elections, saying that the videos will be released to the public at the appropriate time.
The governor also stated that with the declaration of results by returning officers in the respective constituencies, no INEC official is empowered by law to cancel or nullify such results.
.
He said that the military orchestrated violence in the state could be part of a plot by the APC to declare a state of emergency on the state on the premise of heightened propaganda.
Speaking during an interview on Monday, Governor Wike said : “We have videos of the atrocities committed by the military across Rivers State. We shall release them at the appropriate time.
“There is an attempt to cause violence to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State. ”
He noted that the statement by the National Secretariat of the PDP that the Federal Government plans a state of emergency in the state should not be disregarded as there is always an element of truth to every rumour.
According to him, the APC is merely involved in propaganda to create the impression of violence.
On the further rerun in eight local government areas, Governor Wike said measures should be taken by INEC to address the challenges noticed during the March 19 elections.
He suggested that one Resident Electoral Commissioner should be assigned to one local government area for greater efficiency in the conduct of the polls.
The governor said that the PDP won the elections in the declared constituencies because Rivers State is purely a PDP state.
“While we campaigned, they were not campaigning .With what I have done in a few m
onths , it will be difficult to defeat PDP in the state,” he stated.
On the failed attempt by the Defeated Rivers State APC Governorship Candidate, Dakuku Peterside to hijack result spreadsheet from Ikwere /Emohua Federal Constituency in Isiokpo on Sunday , Governor Wike said it was unfortunate that the APC used the media to lie that the APC chieftain escaped assassination attempt. He said the falsehood was possible because APC controls the management of majority of the media.
The governor explained that Rivers State since the 1970s has always been a one -party state, but noted that in 2015, an opposition party arose for the first time.
“Now, we have a strong opposition for the first time. It is a healthy development “, he said.

Foreign Pressure On Buhari T Sack 3 Cabinet Members; Amaechi, 2 Others Named

Nigerian Pilot - There were indication weekend that President Muhammad Buhari is under pressure from the foreig community to sack his Aviation minist and former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi following his indictment for corruption by the Justic George Omeregi-led Rivers State Judiciary Commission of Inquiry, set up to investigate the sale of state assets and the consequent Whitepaper issued by th state government. On a related note, the federal administration was said to be uncomfortable with unpleasant report about the disposition of the curre Secretary to the Government of th Federation, SGF, Lawal Babachir and the President’s Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abb Kyari. The President is reportedl disposed to easing them out of office.
The president is said to be under intens pressure to drop allegedly corrupt appointees from his cabinet to successfully prosecute his administration’s anti-graft war.
A Western diplomat who confided in Nigerian Pilot disclosed that “there is no increased and general confidence in the president’s ability to prosecute his administration’s anti-gra war. He added that, “about five seni diplomats have had reason to pass similar observations to the presidency after the Rivers state government Whitepaper that indicted your minister Aviation, Amaechi over alleged corruption during his years as governor.”
“If I can recall very vividly, they told the president that until people like Amaechi in his government are excused from government to defend the telling allegations against him, the corruption fight will not be taken seriously,” he further said.
The declaration by the diplomats he said was buoyed by a letter written by Governor Nyesom Wike to foreig missions and Embassies detailing findings and related documentary evidences including the government Whitepaper of the Justice Georg Omeregi commission probe report on the state’s finances during the Amaechi years as governor.
Rivers state’s Commissioner of Housing Emma Okah, who spoke on behalf of the State Government, who spoke to journalists in Port Harcourt last year on the foregoing report had disclosed that the state’s Attorney-General had been mandated to start all legal processe against Amaechi; a former military administrator of Rivers State, Brigadi Anthony Ukpo (Rtd) and some other former political office holders to refund over N97 billion allegedly misappropriate in the sale of the state’s valued assets.
According to investigations by Nigeria Pilot, alleged indictment by some foreig consultants contracted by Buhari to assess his administration six month after assuming office.
“The president being a leader desirous returning Nigeria to the path of sanity an prosperity contracted the consultant recommended by former Preside Olusegun Obasanjo. But the president gave them his own terms of reference which were not envisaged by his earlier understanding with Obasanjo,” said on foreign diplomat who was privy to th matter.
He said that the report concluded that the Buhari administration was better off when the President was working with permanent secretaries adding that he should have retained some of the “good and patriotic hands among them” instead of the almost clean sweep that sent all them away leaving a wide vacuum in positive governance. “They were effectiv either because they understood the workings of government very well give their experiences or they dreaded an tendency to act outside the directives President Buhari,” he added.
The source continued: “the president contracted a firm from the U.S. to asses the performance of his government an officials. The result is far from complimentary in respect to some officials, number one of which is the SG Engr. Lawal.
“The SGF’s supervisory role over the MDAs was also brought to question in the report; but it is surprising that the president has allowed him to stay this long after that report. I am aware too that somebody is being considered for the position,” the source confided.
One of the instances mentioned in the consultant’s report is the sacking heads of MDAs recently whereby other political appointees in such MDAs were left out of the action.
Said the source, “some departments an agencies’ staffers have expressed the worry that executive directors were left in office while chief executives of some agencies have
been sacked by the present regime.
“The aggrieved staff argued the executive directors ought to have gone with the chief executives since they are all political appointees, stressing that th executive directors could not be excuse from any impropriety that may hav happened in such departments an agencies.
“The affected staff appealed to th president to as a matter of urgency sac the executive directors and probe the time in office.”
He said the case of the Chief of Staff i not different as his effectiveness as the bridge between the president and his aides alongside other federal, states an foreign governments’ officials has long been in doubt.
Put together, the source alleged that the ineffectiveness of the duo have contributed largely to the steep nose-dive of government in the past months.
The two presidency officials were appointed last October by Buhair.

#RiversRerun: APC chieftain blame Amaechi for party's loss.

The APC candidate at the Rivers state legislative rerun election for Obio Apkor Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Mr. Tony Okocha has blamed former governor and Minister of transportation Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi for the parties loss in the rerun elections.
Mr. Okocha who was Chief of staff of government house while Amaechi was governor said this while speaking with friends and associates shortly after the results of the polls starting coming in

He blamed Amaechi for 'talking too much' and 'exposing their plans'.
In his words;
"We lost this election because Amaechi talks too much, Amaechi talks too much, l never liked his radio and TV ranting because he was just talking before thinking.
He exposed our plans and brought the eyes of the whole world on Rivers State through his needless media noise.
Even the money we asked them to give us for the election, he said the money would be given to us after the election because, we used the money he gave us for 2015 election to buy cars.
What nonsense! He should have just released the money then remain in Abuja, instead of coming here to cause more
problems for us."

They have the FG but I have the people – Wike

Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state, on Sunday said it would be difficult to rig election in the state because the people would resist such attempt because the people are on his side.
Speaking at a press conference in Port Harcourt, Wike said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would win Saturday’s re-run legislative election because when elections were annulled in December, the party commenced preparations for fresh poll.
He said the election has shown clearly who is on ground and who is accepted by the people, saying INEC, federal might, military, police and other security agencies cannot not translate to electoral victories because the people will “always resist agents of rigging”.
“Remember I warned that today’s Nigeria is not yesterday’s Nigeria. Things that were done wrongly before cannot be done wrongly now. I warned that the people will resist any attempt to rig,” he said.
He also accused Dakuku Peterside, director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) of hijacking results from Isiokpo in Ikwere local government area on Sunday.
Wike alleged that Peterside’s security details opened fire and killed one of the aides to Emeka Woke, his chief of staff.

He also accused the military of working against public interest, saying rather than tackling security challenges they were busy “intimidating and harassing Rivers people”.
“Now they have the federal might, army, Pplice, INEC and DSS, but we have the people.”
He also confirmed the arrest of Kenneth Kobani, secretary to the state government, and Cyril Wite, his senior special assistant, saying they were arrested by the army while they were ensuring that election materials were moved to polling units.
He alleged that some people were creating problems to make the federal government declare a state of emergency in the state, but said such ploy would not work, because the PDP was more popular in the state.
He urged the media not to avoid sentiments while reporting events in the state in order not to creat wrong impression.
