Minister Opened Secret Bank Account To Divert The Fund. -Senate

One of President Buhari’s Ministers, specifically has been caught in his attempts to divert the the N50billion fine imposed on MTN by the Nigerian Communication Committee.
The Nigerian Senate in their diligent work indicted the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, of having ulterior motive in the payment of N50 billion by MTN, as part of fine imposed on it by the Federal Government for failure to deactivate 5.2 million unregistered subscribers on its network.
The Lawmakers queried Alhaji Abubakar Malami about the motives behind his unilaterally opening a Secret special Bank account with a strange name that had no correlations with the is
sue at hand and then ordering MTN to credit same, not minding the existence of Treasury Single Account (TSA).
In order to get to the bottom of these questionable act of the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, the Senate, through its Committee on Communications, has vowed to launch immediate probe into the matter, with a view to unraveling all those behind the act and their intentions.
Senator Gilbert Nnaji, the committee’s chairman, said the Senate had resolved to unmask those behind the payment of N50 billion by the Mobile Telecommunication Network,MTN. Nnaji added that the Senate was interested in knowing why MTN was directed to pay the money into an unknown recovery account instead of routing it through the regulatory agency, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
In the last few months, Hope For Nigeria have queried the honesty of President Muhammadu Buhari and his kitchen cabinet in fighting corruption. The Ministers consist of people indicted over their misappropriation, embezzlement and open-day stealing of public funds.
Buhari’s government war on corruption have been described by Nigerians as a war on his political opponents and perceived enemies, as his allies and political sponsors that spent Billions on his electioneering cam
paign are excluded in the whole exercise.
It is disguising that Buhari’s minister have motive to pay in in this N50billion MTN fine to a Bank account, which may be fixed for months and will yield Millions before they will transfer it back to the government’s approved accounts or treasury. These are part of the problems in Nigeria where workers salaries are paid into fixed deposit accounts for 3 to 4 months for interest by government officials, while workers wait endlessly for their wages and salaries that will never come.
