Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has said Christians who are angry about membership of Islamic Coalition against Terrorism should take up their own fight.
The President in an interview with Aljazeera during his state visit to Qatar when asked about the complains by Nigeria’s Christians about giving the country an Islamic identity by his membership of the coalition said;
“Why can’t those Christians complaining go fight terrorism in Nigeria.
“Why can’t the Christians go fight the militants in the south.”
“It is Nigeria that matters, not the opinions of some religious bigots,” he added.
This recent comment by the President puts to rest the uncertainty about Nigeria’s membership of the Islamic Coalition despite the denials by the Presidency in the past.
Saudi Arabia announced the formation of the 34-nation islamic military alliance to fight ISIS and other terrorist groups like Boko Haram in December 2015. Saudi foriegn minister, Adel al-jubeir, disclosed the coalition would have a joint operations centre based in Riyadh with a twin track of military, security and intelligence on the one hand and ideology on the other.
Countries that make up the Islamic coalition list includes Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Egypt, Malaysia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Senegal and several after africa nations!!!
