Elections on-going in Nigeria
Officers of the Nigeria Police Force have at about 9:20 am on March 19, 2016 arrested officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with signed results sheets at the university town of Choba near Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The forged results sheets have been collected from the INEC officials who are now in the police custody.
Voting is yet to commence in Rivers. So, it is impossible for a result sheet to be signed or even be moving to any location outside a polling unit.
This is a developing story. More information will be added as the story develops.
The re-run elections are to fill 2 senatorial seats, 12 seats on the house of representatives, and 22 seats in the Rivers House of Assembly. Elections are taking place in 23 local government areas, 319 wards, and 4,442 polling units.
