Eye witnesses who assembled at Amassoma to pay their tribute to the late Alamieyeseigha had to run helter -skelter to seek refuge from the rains , which was unrelenting .
Speaking after the funeral ceremony , one of the eye witnesses at the ceremony told NAIJ .com on the condition of anonymity : “ The rain didn ’t help matters , but I have always known Alamieyeseigha to be the rain man .
“ I can remember when he was presented to us as our first civilian governor in 1999 ; he was addressing the people and prayed that peace be restored back to our lands. That was the period when there was crisis in Bayelsa. When Late Alamieyeseigha raised a matchet, signifying the end of the crisis , a heavy rain all of sudden began . It was surprising to see but he has always been the rain man and we miss him.''
