Uniport still on protest!!!!

The UNIPORT's studends still continue protest as the students take to the streets of Port-Harcourt this morning over the death of their fellow student. Below is an article written by one of the UNIPORT's students.....

"SO HOW DID WE LOSE COMRADE PETER OFURUM?
- 1983 greets us in 2016.

Oh no he wasn't a cultist, no he wasn't a terrorist,  his crime wasn't robbery,  he wasn't shot three times because he was a kidnapper,  he wasn't even holding a knife, unlike the Herdsmen who carry AK 47.................NO I TELL YOU, HE WAS NOT.......... So why is this Final year student no more with us????

Yes final year student who is supposed to be writing his final exams, apparently shot dead by an ssce holder in the uniform of the police.

He was killed because he only asked the school authorities why their school fees will be increased without any warning, amidst the crunching and biting economical realities of the country, amidst the 100% hike in every commodity in this country. He and his colleagues wanted to find out why UNILAG's fee is N17,500; UNICAL's fee is N25,000; UNIBEN's fee is N12,000; UI's fee is N21,500, O.A.U is N19,700 and their's is N45,000. He wanted to find out why, and the School authorities and the police felt the answer to that question was in the land of the dead. So they arranged his untimely journey there.

Some how during these days, there is so much impunity and an air of arrogance from federal government officials and agencies; unfortunately these body languages are direct ripples from the body languages of the government at the apex. No regard for lives, no time to answer any stupid questions or protests from their subordinates. Just dogmatic, authoritarian and dictatorial in their decisions and if opposed then they greet you with an air of pontifical disdain because they feel you are anti - government.

We missed those days were we can protest and our cries would be heard on the round table an acted on. Sadly everything has CHANGED. 1983 approach beacons and it is scary.

RIP PETER, EVEN AS YOUR DEATH HAS MADE THE SCHOOL SHUT DOWN. I TELL YOU MY COMRADE,  YOU DIDN'T DIE FOR NOTHING!!

#Still on Jesus is Lord."
how would you feel if your child ends up this way? So sad!

RIP MR. P.
